This page should be deleted per WP:CRYSTAL and WP:PROMO. Until this edit, the article was named Barcelona bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics; it was then moved, but the content remained the same. This is obviously a major problem, as neither title is correct: Barcelona did not bid for the 2022 Olympics, and it is not clear at all if there will be something like a "Barcelona 2026" bid. According to this discussion, consensus seems to be to only write articles about Olympic bids once these are official. FoxyOrange (talk) 15:01, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Automated comment: This AfD was not correctly transcluded to the log (step 3). I have transcluded it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2013 November 19. —cyberbot I NotifyOnline 15:04, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Delete - It's an article based entirely on what will happen. WP:CRYSTAL among other issues mentioned above. --Rhododendrites (talk) 19:02, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Keep. There are many sources: Barcelona won't bid for 2022 Winter Games, will wait for 2026: ...must concentrate its efforts and commitment to work to reach the Olympic target by 2026. Maybe rename (temporary) to Plans for Olympic Winter Games held in Barcelona. NickSt (talk) 22:15, 19 November 2013 (UTC) For example, some proposed only, but not submitted bids in the past: Trondheim bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics, Oslo bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics etc. NickSt (talk) 22:21, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

- Delete there is nothing in the article about the bid itself, just a quote from the mayor. WP:NOTNEWS.--Loomspicker (talk) 22:45, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Keep per arguments by Nickst and support rename to Plans for Olympic Winter Games held in Barcelona. Subtropical-man (talk) 23:18, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Comment (by nominator): Thank you NickSt, I indeed had not been aware that articles about Trondheim bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics and Oslo bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics exist. Therefore, my earlier statement that "consensus seems to be to only write articles about Olympic bids once these are official" has been proven wrong. As I pointed out earlier, I'd also be fine with having the article renamed Plans for Olympic Winter Games held in Barcelona. Nevertheless, I feel that it would be inappropriate to withdraw the AfD nomination at this stage, because concerns about WP:CRYSTAL and WP:PROMO remain, as expressed by another two users (Rhododendrites and Loomspicker).--FoxyOrange (talk) 16:00, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- Delete, the Mayor's statements only indicate an intention to possibly, maybe, perhaps, bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics, if they can get their act together sufficiently. At this stage, until they make some more formal steps towards such a bid, this is WP:CRYSTAL. --Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 18:37, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
